Freshwater Pearl Jewelry for Auction!

I recently attended a fun service type auction at our church.  This unique auction allows people to use service rather than money to purchase items.  I decided to offer some of my jewelry for the auction.  I allowed two people to choose from my pearl bracelets, pearl earrings, or pearl necklaces.

When the girls saw that I was auctioning my jewelry they got excited and started saving points.  The auction lasted a couple hours and my turn to auction the jewelry didn’t come until the very end.

I was delighted to know that quite a few people wanted to get them. One of my friends came and told me that she would’ve saved points to bid on them if she knew I was going to provide my jewelry for auction. It made my day to know that so many people love my handmade jewelry.

Visitors

The last two weeks we had two friends from Taiwan visiting us. Well, it’s actually my husband’s friends. They met in Taiwan and became good friends while we lived there for almost a year due to my husbands work.

We tried to get the house ready before they came. I’ve been shopping for some pictures and some home decor for the house.  I even painted an accented wall in the kitchen. My husband’s been working in the back yard.  We buried a hole and put in a 14 foot trampoline and built a beautiful redwood deck.

Our guests had a great time and so did we. By the end of the visit we were all ready to get back to our own lives. They’ve tried all different kind of food here, but they still love Chinese food the best.  It’s OK for us.  At least they tried. The weather was really dry here in Utah.  It makes them miss where they are from.

I think that’s why it’s great to travel. To see, try and feel different cultures, food and weather makes us appreciate what we already have. I am really glad they came. I also have a greater appreciation for what I have as well.

Cultured Freshwater Pearls

Last time (May 6th) I talked a little about how the freshwater pearls we carry at YourWeddingPearls.com are being produced. Today I’d like to talk about the same topic a bit more.

Since cultured pearls are grown in mussels which live in freshwater. The irritants used in making freshwater pearls are often smaller than those used in saltwater pearls, which results in a pearl with more nacre and less core irritant. Freshwater pearls are usually less expensive because freshwater mussels are larger and can produce up to 20 pearls at a time, whereas saltwater oysters are smaller and can only produce one pearl at a time.

Cultured pearls evolve in a similar manner as natural pearls, with the distinction being that cultured pearls have an irritant intentionally placed by a pearl farmer to start the formation of a pearl. The process may take one to several years. Japan, China and various places in the South Pacific have traditionally been major suppliers of cultured pearls. All pearls sold on this website at the moment are cultured freshwater pearls.

Ten things that make me happy

I love to read those magazines that teach me how to decorate your homes and to live a more abundant life. It just always gives me hope that I have the power within me to make my surrounding a little better place.

One of the magazines shows this lady about “ten things that make her happy” in the end of the issue. There are all material things on the list. Nothing spiritually. Not that there is anything wrong with it because I believe we can not live happily with just one part of them.

Recently I heard this from a speech saying ” a great life is not just a balanced life, yet more importantly is that what we focus on.” I think it’s so true. Focus on what? What’s the most valued things in our lives? I think we all have different answers. What are yours?

Cultured Freshwater Pearls(2)

Freshwater pearls are from freshwater such as lakes, rivers etc. These are the majority of what we sell at YourWeddingPearls.com.

Cultured freshwater pearls are almost seedless, quite similar to the wild natural pearl. A variety of factors determine shapes and quality of pearls such as the raising of infant mussels, the health of mussels itself, ingredients in the water, water temperature, the inserting skill of workers, fertilization, disease prevention, etc.
Most cultured freshwater pearls are composed entirely of nacre, just like the natural freshwater pearls. Today, the best and largest freshwater pearls producers are from China which is where our freshwater pearls are from at YourWeddingPearls.com.

Handmade Pearl Earrings

It’s fine if you’re not a bride-to-be to visit our site. We have lots of customers that are not brides but love genuine pearl jewelry. We take pride in our handmade jewelry.

My friend told one of her coworkers about our website. She likes our jewelry so much that she immediately showed her daughter who also loves pearls.  The daughter chose “circle of love pearl earrings” to wear to her prom and her mother got “regal top drill pearl earrings” for herself.

I think they both made a great decision. Pearl jewelry is so much fun to wear. I’m sure your friends will notice and compliment your good taste in jewelry.

Let us know what you like!

Daisy Coin Pearl Bracelet

One of my good friends recently purchased “Coin Pearl Necklace” and “Lucky Coin Pearl Earrings”.  She told me that every where she goes she seems to get compliments on her necklace and earrings.  I saw her wear them the other day and she truly does look fabulous.

She is so happy with her coin pearl necklace and earrings she came back to me and ordered this “Daisy Coin Pearl Bracelet” to complete her set.

Coin pearls are so beautiful and unique.  They sure are one of my favorite pearls.

Be sure to check out our coin pearl jewelry sets.

Journal(2)-Self Introduction?

Some of my friends mentioned that I should introduce myself on my website.  Especially this one friend of mine who continues to bring it up. She said, “it would be nice if your customers can get to know your family, your hobbies, and your story of how you started to get into designing jewelry”.

Well, maybe I should talk a little about myself here, if you are interested. Let me know what you would like to know about me, would you?

I really appreciate you visiting my website. I love what I am doing as a designer and I hope that you will like my work as much as I do. I’ll try to come up with something about me to share with you soon.

Journal(1)-Reading

I love books. When I was a teenager I discovered that I could learn about people, about the world, and about everything through reading good books.  I was timid yet curious.

I buried myself in books. It always made me feel better about myself and about this world. When ever I had negative thoughts and feelings, I read to make myself feel better. When I wanted to find some answers about life, I read. Or when I simply just wanted to know what’s new out there, I read.

I still do the same thing today . Reading good books help me stay positive and happy.

I recommend you grab a good book and relax.

Enjoy…
